The “I am an endangered species” campaign, conducted by the Imago Public Relations Agency together with the 2012 Agency for WWF Poland, was awarded in the European Excellence Awards 2019 competition in two categories: social media and the best campaign in the following countries: Poland, Ukraine, Republic of Moldova.
In the campaign prepared for the COP24 Conference held in December 2018 in Katowice, the big panda in the WWF logo was replaced by a changing image of a human face. The 2012 Agency was responsible for the strategy, creative concept and project implementation. The Imago PR team supported WWF in its communication with the media, the local community and influencers.
The prestigious European Excellence Awards are granted for outstanding achievements in PR and communication since 2007. The wide range of competition categories gives a comprehensive overview of the most important communication projects in Europe. The European Excellence Awards 2019 was held on the evening of 29 November in Lisbon.
“During COP24, the “summit of last chance”, we induced delegates and millions of Poles to face the threats of climate change. We replaced the iconic panda in the WWF logo with a human face. The face of each of us. In 12 days, we gained earned and shared media coverage at the level of over 25 million, 11 thousand signatures on the petition to the President of the Summit, and support of Nobel Peace Prize nominee Greta Thunberg. Five thousand people put their faces into the WWF logo, becoming (still) living campaign ambassadors. On behalf of all those involved in the project, I would like to say that it is a great honour that our work has been noticed and rewarded,” said Maciej Preidl, who was responsible for the implementation of the campaign at Imago PR, upon receiving the European Excellence Awards 2019.
The “I am an endangered species” project was also in the finals of Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity and Effie Poland 2019. With nominations in four categories, on 6 December, it will compete in the final of the Golden Paperclips 2019 competition.
