This year’s European Economic Congress in Katowice (EEC) will be held under the slogan: The power of dialogue. Imago Public Relations has supported the PTWP Group in its media relations activities since its inception in 2009. The upcoming edition, scheduled for April 22-24, will be covered by several hundred journalists, including numerous foreign correspondents. One of the event’s thematic tracks will be dedicated to media and communication – the future of the industry, the phenomenon of disinformation, and the digital revolution.

Over nearly two decades, the European Economic Congress has grown into the most important business event in Central Europe. Its mission remains to create an open forum for the exchange of experiences and views, as well as to develop solutions for the economy in a dynamically changing environment. Each year, Katowice brings together an international group of decision-makers – politicians and local government officials, market experts and practitioners, representatives of business, financial institutions, academia, NGOs, and the media. The Congress provides them with a space for partnership-based, results-oriented conversation, which is particularly important in the context of current geopolitical challenges, technological acceleration, the climate crisis, and civilizational changes. Hence, the theme of this year’s event: The Power of Dialogue. The Power of Dialogue, which also echoes contemporary social trends emphasizing openness, respect for diversity, and inclusiveness.

“As Imago Public Relations, we have been accompanying the European Economic Congress since its inception in 2009. We are proud of our commitment to communicating the brand of an event that, in the eyes of many, today exceeds the hopes and ambitions from which it was born 18 years ago. It is largely thanks to the congress that Katowice and the Silesian metropolis remain a crucial place for the Polish economy and business, even during the energy transition. This is important to us because public relations, alongside brand and organizational communication, is a crucial element of social and economic dialogue. Therefore, the slogan of this year’s edition: The Power of Dialogue – has a symbolic meaning for us,” says Rafał Czechowski, Managing Director at Imago Public Relations, who will lead the session “Disinformation in Business” during the congress.

At the center of this year’s edition will be Europe, which, under the pressure of tensions, is seeking new sources of strength: resilience, competitiveness, energy and digital transformation, investment, and sustainable development. The Congress will also place people at the center – their work, competencies, and role in tomorrow’s economy, as well as the relationship between local governments, businesses, and society. Over 200 sessions, featuring 1,300 speakers, will be planned around these topics.

Media and communication will also feature prominently on the Congress agenda. Industry representatives and practitioners from Poland and abroad will discuss how technology is impacting communication and how to respond to new challenges related to digitization, the speed of communication, its superficiality and lack of credibility, and the phenomenon of disinformation. Debates will also address the future of the media industry in a broad context: socio-political, ethical, and economic.

In 2025, over 650 journalists from 220 press, television, radio, and online media outlets participated in the Congress. The event was sponsored by 70 media outlets, with the largest of them broadcasting from the International Congress Center and Spodek Arena from their own studios. A total of 37,000 broadcasts were created. publications, with a media equivalent of PLN 166.4 million.

Imago PR supports the PTWP Group in media communications and the management of the congress press office. The agency has been working on the event since its inaugural edition in 2009. In 2011, Imago PR’s communications efforts were awarded the Golden Clip.
